The Cafec Deep Pro (model DS-45) is the older predecessor of what is now sold as the Flower Dripper Deep 45. Both share the same 45-degree bottom angle and the same intent — to form a deep filtering layer in the manner of a nel dripper, but using paper — yet they are geometrically distinct. The Deep Pro is hexagonal in silhouette rather than circular, and its ribs are dotted columns rather than the continuous flower-shaped ridges of the newer Deep 45.

The hexagonal shape and the dotted ribs serve the same purpose by different means: they keep an air layer between the paper and the dripper body so the bed drains evenly, instead of pinning the filter against the wall. With a tall column of grounds and a 45-degree slope, the water travels further before it exits and the bed stays wetter for longer. Cafec's own line for the Deep range — "the dripper beyond the dripper, deeper for much more flavor" — was written for this product first.

The Deep Pro is moulded in plastic and sized for three to seven cups, which makes it the largest brewer in the Cafec deep family. Cafec is now positioning the Flower Dripper Deep 45 as the modern successor — same angle, refreshed geometry, Tritan body, flower ribs — but the Deep Pro remains a capable workhorse for larger batches, especially with medium to darker roasts where the longer contact time deepens body and sweetness.
