Origami Dripper S

Pleated cone with a lively drawdown

Recipes 146 Authors

The Origami Dripper S is the small version of the pleated Japanese cone, sized for single-serving brews of 10 to 16 g of coffee. Same geometry, same filter flexibility as the M — it accepts both V60-style cones and Wave 155 flat-bottom filters — only the diameter and the dose change.

In practice the S brews faster than the M because the coffee bed is shallower and the pleats-to-bed ratio is different. A grind one notch finer than your M setting usually compensates, but some brewers prefer leaving the grind alone and simply accepting a slightly brighter, shorter cup. A typical recipe: 12 g of coffee to 200 g of water (1:16), medium grind, water at 93–95 °C, three pours in 2:00 to 2:45.

The S is the Origami to pick if your daily drinker is one cup at a time and you still want the dual-filter flexibility that defines the family. It is also the easiest Origami to travel with — light, small, durable if you pack it carefully.
