The Origami Air S is the small version of the polypropylene Origami, sized for single-serving brews of 10 to 16 g of coffee. It shares the twenty-pleat geometry and the 60-degree cone of the ceramic S and the same filter flexibility — it accepts both V60-style cones and Wave 155 flat-bottom filters — but weighs a fraction of it and will survive drops the ceramic would not.
The plastic body changes one brewing variable: thermal mass. The Air preheats almost instantly with a filter rinse, but it also loses heat faster once brewing starts, so the last thirty seconds of drawdown run a little cooler than on the ceramic. Brewers who like that characteristic report a slightly crisper, more acidic cup; brewers who do not simply raise the water temperature a degree or two to compensate.
