Torch Mountain Dripper

Ring-shaped bed with a softer flow

The Torch Mountain is the flat-bed sibling of the Torch Donut, designed by the same South Korean brand but built around a more conventional pour-over geometry. It uses a flat coffee bed inside a tapered body, with a multi-hole drainage pattern that sits between a Kalita Wave and a modern flat-bed like the Orea V3.

What the Mountain adds over those competitors is pour visibility. The brewer is deliberately shallow, so brewers can watch the bed agitate in real time and adjust pour rate in response. The taper channels water toward the centre, similar in principle to a Fellow Stagg X, which reduces bypass along the wall. The cup profile is balanced and sweet, with slightly more top-note clarity than a Wave delivers.

A starting recipe: 18 g of coffee to 280 g of water (1:15–1:16), medium grind, water at 93–95 °C, three pours in 2:45 to 3:30. Uses standard Kalita Wave 185 filters. The Mountain is a solid daily-brew flat bed for anyone who wants Wave-style consistency with a touch more cup clarity, in a design that looks distinctive on the shelf.
