    Stir

    Mix coffee, cardamom, and cold water.

    Wait

    Heat slowly.

  3. 4:00
    Wait

    Foam rises. Remove from heat, let settle.

  4. 4:30
    Wait

    Return to heat until foam rises again.

  5. 5:00
    Done

    Pour into small cups. Serve with dates.

Notes

Arabic coffee uses a lighter roast than Turkish. Add 2 crushed cardamom pods to the water before heating. Some traditions add saffron or rosewater.
