Chemex 6 Cup

Three Center Pours

George Howell Coffee's Chemex 6-cup method centers its staged pours over the bed to create natural, repeatable agitation. Combined with the thick filter, it pursues a nuanced, exceptionally clean cup that foregrounds terroir and aroma.

Notes

Use clean, evenly mineralized water and a uniform grind, because this sparse pouring pattern exposes inconsistency. Aim each pour at the center without drilling one spot, allow partial drawdown between additions, and coarsen if the bed compacts.
