Hoffmann's Ultimate V60 Technique scaled for batch on the Deep 45. Bloom plus two long pours, with a swirl to flatten the bed before drawdown.

    Bloom

    Pour 60g (2x dose). Swirl the dripper gently to saturate all grounds evenly.

    To 60g 10s Center

    Pour

    Pour to 300g cumulative in slow circles, taking the full 45 seconds.

    To 300g 45s Circular
  3. 2:00 03
    Pour

    Pour to 500g cumulative in slow circles, taking the full 45 seconds.

    To 500g 45s Circular
  4. 3:00 04
    Swirl

    Swirl the dripper gently to flatten the coffee bed.

  5. 4:30 05
    Done

    Drawdown complete. Target around 4:30.

Notes

Two pours of 45 seconds each — extended from Hoffmann's 30-second V60 pours because the deep bed and bigger dose move slower. Grind one click coarser than the V60 02 version (medium, not medium-fine). Without that step the 45-degree bed slows drawdown past 5:00 and pulls bitter. Final swirl flattens the 30g of grounds for an even drawdown — more important on a Deep 45 than on a V60 because uneven beds drain more visibly here. Ratio: 60g/L. Drawdown around 4:30. Brews three cups.
