Melitta 1x4

Large Batch Party

Melitta 1x4 Misc pourover by Melitta

Melitta's classic 1x4 method scaled up to fill a carafe for a group. Ground a notch coarser than the standard setting so the deeper bed still drains cleanly, then built with four steady spiral pours from a bloom out.

Notes

A full 1x4 keeps water on the bed for a while, so expect the drawdown to run 4 to 5 minutes — noticeably longer than a single-cup brew. If water starts pooling on top, the grind is too fine for a bed this deep.
