The Kalita Wave 155 is the small version of Kalita's iconic flat-bottom dripper, sized for one to two cups and somewhere around 15 to 20 g of dry coffee. Filters, shape, and three-hole drainage are identical to the 185 — only the diameter and the dose change.
The compact footprint makes the 155 a favourite for solo brewing, travel, and desk setups where a V60 feels like overkill. Because the bed is smaller but the drainage ratio stays the same, flow tends to be faster than on the 185, so a grind one notch finer often balances out the extraction. Start at 16 g of coffee to 250 g of water (1:16), water at 93–96 °C, and aim for three pours in 3:00 to 3:45.
Expect the same sweet, balanced cup the Wave is known for, just scaled down. If the Wave 185 is a brewer for two people or a slow breakfast, the 155 is the one for a single cup on the commute or the first coffee before the rest of the house is up.
