The Kalita 102 is the two-to-four-cup wedge dripper — same geometry, same three-hole drainage as the 101, just scaled up for larger batches. Dose usually lands between 20 and 35 g of coffee.
At this size the wedge bed becomes noticeably deeper, and extraction leans even more toward body and sweetness than it did on the 101. A slightly coarser grind than the 101 keeps total brew time in the 4:00 to 5:00 range; water at 93–95 °C and a 1:15 ratio work as a reliable baseline.
The 102 is the size coffee shops in Japan still use for "blend" coffees, because the trapezoid is easier to brew consistently by hand than a V60 03 at the same volume. At home it is a solid choice for anyone who wants a filter cup with more weight and texture than a pour-over for two without switching to a different brewer.
