Pour 225g (half) of water.

Stir to break the crust.

Add remaining water to 450g. Place lid.

Notes
Stumptown's two-stage water addition ensures all grounds are thoroughly saturated before the full steep. The stir at 1 minute breaks any crust that forms. Press immediately at 4 minutes and decant right away — don't let coffee sit on the grounds.
