The F70 is Saint Anthony's flat-bottom brewer: a ceramic dripper that pairs with dedicated flat Perfect Paper F70 filters. Where the Phoenix and C70 cones chase clarity, the flat bed trades some of that nuance for forgiveness. Water spreads across a wide, even bed and drains predictably, so technique matters less and cup-to-cup consistency is high — the same logic that makes a Kalita Wave so reliable.
The trade is body: a flat bed pulls a rounder, fuller cup than a cone at the same inputs. Because the wide bed drains faster, grind a touch finer than you would on the Phoenix to keep contact time up. A 1:16 with water around 93 °C and gentle pulse pours lands a sweet, full-bodied cup; it is an especially good home for medium and darker roasts.
