Kalita Wave 185

Dark Roast — Slow Centered Pour

Kalita's Wave 185 product guidance supports this gentle dark-roast method using cooler water and slow, centered pours. Its broad bed and restricted outlets encourage stable flow, seeking a mellow, rounded cup without abrasive roast bitterness.

Notes

Use water at 93°C and keep the kettle close to the bed to minimize agitation. A coarse grind should drain steadily through all outlets; redistribute the dry grounds before brewing if one side runs faster.
