UFO V2 mounted on a Hario Switch base for a hybrid immersion-then-percolation brew. Two minutes of vigorous-spoon immersion pulls flavor, then the switch opens to drain, and two more pours finish the cup. Pushes extraction higher than straight pour-over.

You'll need

  • Hario Switch (immersion base) Required

    The Hario Switch's valved base, used underneath other drippers (Hario V60 NEO, Sibarist UFO) to add stop-and-go immersion. Here it is required as an add-on base, not as the standalone brewer.

Sibarist's FAST UFO paper drains freely once the switch opens, so the post-immersion pours finish fast and push extraction higher without clogging.

Notes

Requires the UFO V2 sitting on a Hario Switch base. Set the switch CLOSED before you start. Filter: Sibarist FAST UFO edition. Grind: medium to medium-coarse, 850-950 µm target. The 12g / 200g ratio (1:16.67) keeps the cup readable despite the longer immersion contact time.
