Orea Z1

High Clarity

Brian Quan's micro-dose method for the open-bottom Orea Z1: a small charge of coffee ground fine, a fast bloom to open up brightness, then one long, slow pour that builds a clean, articulate, high-clarity cup.

Notes

Grind fine — noticeably finer than you would for a larger dose. Keep a small, steady water column through the slow pour; the open-bottomed Z1 does little to slow the flow, so the control has to come from your kettle.
