Orea's V4 Narrow dark-roast method uses cooler water and coarse grounds alongside the brewer's restricted flow. Its goal is a rounded cup that preserves roast sweetness while avoiding bitterness and stalled drainage.

Begin coarse enough for a steady drawdown, since dark-roast fines can obstruct the Narrow outlet. Use 88°C (190.4°F) as the key bitterness control, then adjust grind coarser if smoky dryness remains.

It should finish dripping around 3:00. If not, change just one thing in the next cup:
- Past 3:40? Grind coarser
- Done before 2:20? Grind finer
- Bitter or dry? Coarser, or cooler water
- Sour and thin? Grind finer
