Gabi Master B
Open in appThe recipe printed in the Gabi Master B manual, provided by Korea's Coffee Critics Association. A short bloom drips through the distributor's inner ring, then the rest of the water fills both rings while the Master B meters it onto the bed. The manual draws it over a Hario, Kalita, Kono or Melitta dripper.

Gabi Master B Required
A gravity-fed water distributor that sits over a separate pour-over dripper, such as a V60 or Kalita Wave. It disperses the kettle stream into gentle droplets; the dripper and its paper filter are still required.

- 1 Add 20g of grounds.
- 2 Set the Gabi Master B on top of the dripper — you pour into its reservoir, not onto the coffee.

Bloom 1 / 30:0025s
Pour 50g. Pour into the distributor's inner ring only, so the water drips over the centre of the bed. Let it bloom.

Pour 2 / 30:252m5s
Finish pouring to 300g. Fill both rings of the distributor so the water drips over the whole bed, topping them up as they drain without letting them overflow.

Finish when the coffee stops dripping.

Definitions, ratios and protocols behind this recipe.
- V60 Hario's conical brewer is the most copied design in modern coffee, and for good reason: a 60° cone, deep ribs, and one big hole add up to a brewer that doesn't restrict flow at all. The grounds are what hold the water back, not the device. That makes the grind and your pour the only real variables.
- Origin Where the coffee grew shapes the cup more than almost anything else. Soil, altitude, climate, and varietal interact for the years the tree spends in the ground. Once the cherry is picked, the rest of the chain (processing, roast, brew) only modifies what's already there. You can't put fruit into a coffee that wasn't grown for it.
