AeroPress

WAC 2014

Open in app

Shuichi Sasaki's winning 2014 World AeroPress Championship method brews upright and relies on an unusually slow press. It intentionally leaves wet slurry behind rather than squeezing the chamber dry, favoring a clean, restrained finish.

Notes

Pair a rinsed paper filter with soft mineral water, press with consistent low force, and stop while roughly 45g of slurry remains. Pushing through the final liquid can add sediment and astringency.

Grinder

9.5 on Mahlkönig EK43.
