Recipe import
Gota ProAny recipe, ready to brew
Good recipes live everywhere: on a café's card, in a book, in a screenshot of a post, under a video. Gota imports them: take a photo or paste the text, and its AI writes the recipe out in Gota's own form, with every step timed, so you can brew it with the guided timer.
What you can import
- Photos: up to three of the same recipe — a printed card, a page of a book, a screenshot of a post or of a video's description. JPG, PNG or WebP.
- Text: paste up to 10,000 characters, from a website, a message or the description under a video.
Gota doesn't open links. To bring in a recipe from YouTube or Instagram, copy the text that goes with the video, or take a screenshot of it.
What comes out
- a title, a short description and two to four tips;
- the closest method among Gota's brewers;
- coffee and water, when the source gives them — never invented;
- the grind, as a descriptor and a Gota level from 1 to 10, plus the grinder setting if the source names one;
- temperature, and whether it's hot, iced or cold;
- the author or brand, only if the source says who it is;
- the flavour profile, body and roast it suits;
- any preparation before brewing, and the timed steps.
The recipe opens in the editor so you can check it before you save it. From then on it brews like any other recipe in Gota: guided timer, voice, scale and your grinder's setting.
When it isn't a recipe
If what you photographed isn't a recipe, Gota says so and explains why. If a photo is unreadable, it tells you how to take a better one.
Gota Pro
Importing is part of Gota Pro, with the other AI features: bag scanning, the barista and the cold brew assistant. It needs a connection.
