AI barista
Gota ProOne change at a time
Dialling in is a matter of changing one thing and tasting what it did. Gota's barista works the same way: before you brew it looks at everything Gota knows about this cup and tells you the one adjustment worth making, and after you taste it, it tells you the next. It is part of Gota Pro.
Before you brew
Ask the barista on the recipe screen and it reads:
- the recipe — its dose, water, grind, temperature and steps, and the brewers and accessories you own;
- the coffee — origin, process, roast level, days since roasting, how fresh the bag is and its tasting notes, plus how many brews are left in it;
- your grinder — its current setting and the window the recipe wants on its dial;
- your history with it — up to twelve comparable cups, or the last one, and any adjustment you just made.
It answers with a verdict and its reason, and a single lever: grind (coarser or finer, by one to three steps), temperature, ratio, time — or nothing, when the recipe already fits. If the change is worth keeping, it offers to create an adjusted version of the recipe. It can also warn you that a bag is past its best or suggest a recipe for another brewer you own.
After the cup
When you finish, mark how it tasted and how strong it was. The barista then reads the brew as it happened: the real time against the target, how the drawdown went, the notes you wrote, any defect you tagged, the flavours you found and, with a Bluetooth scale, the weights. It gives you a headline and the reason for it, one main change for the next brew — grind, temperature, ratio, time, dose or technique — and, sometimes, a secondary tip.
Why only one change
Change the grind and the temperature together and you can't tell which one helped. The barista keeps to one move per brew so each cup teaches you something, and Gota keeps the history that lets the next suggestion build on the last.
What it isn't
It doesn't write a new recipe from nothing or replace your palate: it reads what you tell it and what Gota has measured. The answers come from an AI model, so treat them as a knowledgeable second opinion. It only answers when you ask.
Gota Pro
The barista is part of Gota Pro, with the other AI features: recipe import, bag scanning and the cold brew assistant. It needs a connection; everything else in a brew works offline.
