Live Brew
FreeYour brew, filmed and edited for you
Filming a pour-over is easy. Turning it into something worth sharing — with the recipe, each pour's weight and the clock on screen — usually takes an evening in an editing app. Live Brew does it while you brew: switch it on before you start, brew as usual, and Gota hands you a finished video.
How it works
- Open a recipe and turn on Live Brew before you start. Prop the iPhone where it can see the dripper; Gota films with the rear camera.
- Brew as you always do, following the steps on screen or by voice. Gota records for as long as the brew lasts, up to 30 minutes.
- Rate the cup when you finish. Gota edits the video while you take your first sip.
What's in the video
- A cover with the recipe's name, the method, its dose and water, your grinder and the coffee you used.
- A card for each step, laid over your footage at the moment it happens, with the target weight, the time and the temperature.
- The clock running, and a frame that lights up each time a new step begins.
- Your rating, as a card with its stars, to close.
The video is vertical, 9:16, ready for Stories, Reels or TikTok, at 1080 × 1920 or 720p and 30 frames per second.
Sharing it
Save it to Photos, send it from the share sheet, or keep the original recording without the overlays if you'd rather edit it yourself. Sound is off by default; Gota records it only if you allow the microphone.
Do I need a scale?
No. The weights on the cards are the recipe's targets, so Live Brew works with any recipe and any kettle. With a Bluetooth scale connected, Gota can also close each pour by weight while it films.
