Cold brew

Cold brew, worked out for you

Cold brew is simple to make and easy to get wrong: too much coffee, too little time, the fridge or the counter. Gota's assistant asks three questions and works out the rest, then keeps time for the twelve hours you'd rather not think about.

Three questions

  1. How much? 250 ml, 500 ml, 1 litre, 2 litres, or any amount from 150 ml to 4 litres.
  2. How will you drink it? Ready to drink, with milk, or as a concentrate to dilute.
  3. Which style? Smooth, strong or bright.

What Gota works out

The dose of coffee, the ratio (between 1:5 and 1:17), the grind, where to steep it — in the fridge at 4 °C, or on the counter at 20 °C for no more than 12 hours — and how long: between 4 and 24 hours, in steps of two. It is a fixed calculation, so the same answers always give the same recipe. Gota saves it as a recipe of four steps — mix, steep, filter, serve — that you can brew again or adjust.

The steep, timed

Start the steep and Gota counts down, with a notification when it's ready. On iPhone the countdown sits on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, and keeps going even if you close the app. The timer works with any cold brew recipe, from the library or your own.

Free and Pro

The steeping timer is free and works with every cold brew recipe you can open. The assistant that works out a recipe for you is part of Gota Pro.

Next step

Let Gota run the timer.
