Alexis Gagnaire is a French barista who reached the podium at the 2019 World AeroPress Championship in London, finishing 3rd for France in a final dominated by the European specialty coffee scene that year.

His competition recipe is widely shared because of its distinctive method: brewed in inverted position, the recipe pulls the plunger upward partway through the steep to create a partial vacuum. This light suction degasses and "wets" the bed more evenly without adding extra agitation, before the cup is flipped and finished with a slow, gentle press. The technique aims for clarity and sweetness rather than body — typical priorities of Nordic-leaning AeroPress competition recipes of the period.
