Switch Hybrid

Kurasu's NEO-on-Switch recipe: a closed-valve immersion bloom with five swirls, then open and pour in stages. A coarse grind and immersion start build sweetness in a clean, light-roast cup.

You'll need

  • Hario Switch (immersion base) Required

    The Hario Switch's valved base, used underneath other drippers (OREA Z1, Hario V60 NEO, Sibarist UFO) to add stop-and-go immersion. Here it is required as an add-on base, not as the standalone brewer.

    Bloom

    With the valve CLOSED, pour 50g and gently swirl the dripper five times.

    To 50g 8s Circular Valve: Closed

    Wait

    OPEN the valve.

    Valve: Open
  3. 0:50 03
    Pour

    Pour up to 120g.

    To 120g 12s Circular
  4. 1:30 04
    Pour

    Pour up to 200g.

    To 200g 15s Circular
  5. 2:00 05
    Pour

    Pour up to 240g in the center.

    To 240g 10s Center
  6. 2:30 06
    Done

    Close the valve once it has drained, then serve.

    Valve: Closed

Notes

Needs a Hario Switch base. Start with the valve closed. Grind coarse (around Fellow Ode Gen2 #8.0).
