Drain and Steep

NextLevel Pulsar Nextlevel by Max Martinelli

Max Martinelli's recipe in NextLevel's Pulsar collection drains the bloom completely, switches to a closed-valve immersion, then reopens for a pulsed finish. These distinct phases seek measured strength and a clean balance of body and clarity.

Notes

Let the bloom drain fully before closing the valve for immersion; otherwise the phases blur and contact time becomes harder to repeat. Once reopened, pulse gently while holding the slurry near 1cm. Aim for roughly 1.3-1.4% TDS and adjust grind, not pulse height, to correct strength.

Grinder

800–860 µm average (ZP6 4.0–4.2).
