How it brews

NextLevel's flat-bottom paper cut for the Pulsar brewer, an 80 mm disc that also serves the Pulsar Mini. It's a brewer-specific seat, so this paper does not interchange with Kalita-Wave or other flat papers — it's shaped to the Pulsar's own bed. The flat disc lets the coffee stand in a shallow, even bed across the base, which is the geometry NextLevel designed the Pulsar around. NextLevel publishes no flow rating for the paper and there's no reliable within-seat ranking, so we leave flow unrated rather than guess. As a single-use paper it takes the usual rinse before brewing.

How it brews

NextLevel's reusable steel discs drop into the base of the Pulsar (and Pulsar Mini) in place of the paper. Because it's an etched metal mesh, it micro-filters most of the sediment while letting more of the coffee's natural oils through, so the cup reads richer and bolder with more body than paper allows. The set pairs a denser 19k-hole disc — which can also sit under a paper filter as a body booster — with a cleaner 40k-hole disc. It's a one-buy, washable option; NextLevel publishes no within-seat flow rating, so we leave flow unrated rather than guess.
